Several killed in Mogadishu clashes
At least seven people are known to have died and three other wounded when the African Union Peacekeeping forces in Mogadishu and Al-Shabaab rebel fighters clashed at Aba-gedo area in Mogadishu’s Darkenley district on Monday night.
The clashes erupted when rebel fighters launched attacks on AMISOM base in the area, prompting fierce fighting.
Locals told Bar-kulan that they saw six dead bodies of Al-Shabaab fighters in the area, adding that a woman died after she was hit by a stray bullet while at her house in the area.
Reports say the injured people are all civilians who were caught up in crossfire during the clashes.
