TFG Elaborates on Bomb in the Capital

Mogadishu: Bar-kulan: A press statement released by the Ministry of Information of the Transitional Federal Government of Somalia has given more details regarding yesterday’s bomb that targeted a public service vehicle.

The press release announced that the number of people who died in the explosion had reached fifteen civilians and those injured number more than twenty.

The TFG condemned the bombing and blamed insurgent groups fighting the TFG as the perpetrators of the explosion. Most of those who died were school children returning home.

Last week some members of the Al-shabab militia were killed by a mine they were planning to use in the government controlled Bandir area of Mogadishu. Among those who died were foreign fighters from India, Pakistan and Afganistan.

Somalia’s minister of information, Eng. Abdirahman Omar, has described attacks that target civilians as ‘cowardly acts’ aimed at terrorizing the people.
