Himan-Heeb authorities deny relationship with Hizbul-Islam.

Adado: Bar-kulan: The authorities of Himin and Heeb have denied to have any relationship with Hizbul-Islam militias who recently took over former pirates base of Haradere town.
The town which has been used by the Somali pirates for some time as a place to hold hijacked commercial ships and crew for ransom has been seized by Hizbul-Islam militia group who declared that they will stop the illegal activity and put the town under the rule of Islamic sharia.
It is alleged that some of the leaders of Himin and Heeb authorities have had talks with the leaders of Hizbul-Islam group in Bohda town which is under the control of Himin and Heeb leaders.
Supporters of the authority in the area are protesting against the presence of some of Hizbul-Islam elements in the area fearing that they could disrupt the stability of the area security wise.
A spokesman of Himin and Heeb authorities told radio Bar-Kulan that the leaders of the local authority have no any relationship with Hizbul-Islam insurgents and would not wish to involve them in matters concerning the areas under their control.
Himin and Heeb authorities have been established by youth groups and some professionals leaving abroad who hail from Galgadud and Mudug regions which are under the control of the authority. It is also part of the various systems that have been established in the northern parts of Somalia after the collapse of Somalia’s central government two decades ago.
