Puntland police holding WFP’s equipments.
Galkaio (Bar-kulan)-Puntland security officials assembled samples of militaryequipments they have seized outside galkayo’s central police post.
The military equipments are composed of bullet proof vests and radio call machines.
The police say that the equipments belong to officials of the WFP.
OCPD of Galkayo’s central police station said that the equipments were brought into Puntland territories via Southern Somalia’s regions and are dangerous to the security of the local residents.
The officer said that they have released the suspects they have arrested with the equipments but they have released them after they were ordered to do so by their seniors.
He asked officers of the WFP to inform the security agencies of Puntland region when coming in with weapons and military equipments for their personal safety and that of the residents.
However some of the officials of Galkayo’ WFP unit confirmed that the equipments belong to them but are not from Southern Somalia regions. They have been transported from a WFP warehouse in Galkayo.
The equipments were to be taken to Puntland’s capital city of Garowe.
